Job summary

Sutherland Global in Metro Manila/Taguig seeks a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to drive enterprise data modernization, migrating legacy analytics to cloud-native platforms and delivering scalable data solutions with strong governance.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, build pipelines using Spark, Python, and SQL, and push for performance improvements across BI models and reporting environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, BI, or Data Platform Development.
• Strong expertise in SQL, including advanced query development, optimization, and stored procedure logic.
• Experience with Power BI, semantic models, and DAX-based reporting environments.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, or similar big data technologies.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and analytics.
• Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements-gathering skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of legacy reporting and analytics to modern cloud-based platforms.
• Analyze BI models and SQL workloads to identify optimization opportunities.
• Convert complex business logic into scalable cloud-native data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and validation/testing across pipelines.
• Develop, maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and data products.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Establish scalable data architectures and governance practices.
• Monitor platform performance and optimize reporting performance.
