Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions, a global EPC and solar energy expert, seeks a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer for its Manila, Philippines operations. The role centers on leading civil/structural development for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects under EPC contracts, from tender through handover.

You will prepare design packages, define foundations for PV mounting and substations, and coordinate with electrical and construction teams to meet client requirements and applicable codes.

Qualifications

As an international company we are looking for a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer in Manila, Philippines.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of technical and project activities, including:
• Leading the civil and structural engineering development of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects under EPC contracts, from tender and basic design through detailed design, construction and handover.
• Preparing and reviewing civil and structural design packages, including site layouts, grading and earthworks, internal roads and access, stormwater drainage, fencing and site infrastructure.
• Defining and reviewing foundation solutions for PV mounting structures (driven or screw piles, embedment length) and reinforced-concrete foundations for inverter/transformer stations, substations, BESS containers and buildings.
• Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, technical specifications, BoQ and cost estimates for both tender and execution phases.
• Reviewing and interpreting topographic, geotechnical and hydrological studies, and defining site-investigation and pile-testing requirements.
• Preparing scopes of work, evaluating proposals and coordinating external engineering firms and subcontractors, ensuring deliverables are complete and in line with the agreed scope.
• Coordinating civil and structural design with the electrical, procurement and construction teams, as well as with the client and the owner's engineer.
• Ensuring designs comply with contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards, and permitting requirements.
• Attending design-team, client and contractor meetings, and supporting site visits, construction queries and project close-out.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior engineers and designers and providing technical guidance.

QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum 8 years of civil and/or structural engineering experience, with a strong background in EPC projects.
• Proven experience in engineering development for utility-scale solar PV, BESS or similar energy and infrastructure projects (e.g. substations, renewable or power plants).
• A bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience delivering projects through tender, basic design, detailed design and construction stages.
• Solid knowledge of foundation design, reinforced concrete and steel structures, and site infrastructure (roads, grading and drainage).
• Working knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, ACI/ASCE, AS/NZS) and the ability to apply local requirements.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one structural analysis software (Dlubal RFEM, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, SAP2000 or similar).
• Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D or similar software (e.g. 12d).
• Ability to prepare and review technical calculations, drawings, specifications, BoQ and reports.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and within international, multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint) and fluent English, both written and spoken.
