Job summary

HSBC Mexico's Global Service Center is seeking a Senior Business Manager - Finance to support the Americas Head of Business Management with disciplined financial governance.

You will lead monthly forecasting, workforce planning, and cost management across the Americas, partnering with senior stakeholders to provide decision-ready insights and robust control processes. The role is based in a hybrid setting in Mexico City and requires strong data analysis and governance experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating monthly reporting cycles (actuals and forecast) and producing leadership-ready MI.
  • Ability to interpret data, explain variances, identify drivers, and articulate implications and actions.
  • Experience supporting headcount management, approval workflows, and governance submissions.
  • Comfort with planning tools (Anaplan or similar), Excel, and PowerPoint to build packs and reconcile data.
  • Experience operating within governance and control frameworks (documentation standards, evidence packs, issues/escalations).
  • Strong attention to detail, version control, and multi-workstream management.
  • Clear written communication for status updates, minutes and executive summaries.
  • Experience in indirect cost management/cost action tracking in a large, regulated org.
  • Knowledge of third-party/service management concepts.
  • Financial services experience in risk-and-control environment.

Senior Business Manager - Finance

The primary objective of the Senior Business Manager, Finance is to support the Americas Head of Business Management in delivering disciplined financial management and governance across the Americas. The role focuses on: (1) leading LAM monthly forecasting and actuals reporting, (2) workforce planning and FRC support, (3) acting as Americas SRO/ATO lead, and (4) leading Americas indirect cost management—ensuring accurate MI, clear decision support, and effective control routines.

Main activities
  • Lead Mexico Monthly forecasting & actuals reporting:
    • Coordinate the end-to-end monthly forecasting and actuals rhythm across relevant Finance/business stakeholders.
    • Validate inputs, assumptions, phasing, and run-rate logic; challenge inconsistencies and follow through to resolution.
    • Consolidate outputs into clear, decision-ready materials (packs, dashboards, variance commentary) highlighting key drivers, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
    • Maintain governance of the cycle: timelines, action logs, decisions, and audit trail documentation.
    • Provide ad hoc MI and deep dives to support senior leadership decisions (e.g., variance root cause, cost trend analysis).
  • Support the workforce planning interlock by coordinating headcount changes, approvals, and workflow progression through required governance steps (including FRC-related submissions where applicable).
  • Raise and track headcount approval requests; monitor status, resolve data gaps, and ensure stakeholders complete required actions on time.
  • Ensure approved workforce changes are accurately reflected in planning tooling (e.g., Anaplan) and incorporated into forecast/actuals reporting.
  • Produce concise FRC decision support (e.g., request summaries, impacts to budgets/forecasts, tracking of approvals vs plan).
  • Maintain a clear audit trail of submissions, approvals, and changes for governance and control purposes.
  • Act as the Americas lead for SRO/ATO-related activity, coordinating with suppliers and service recipient/contract owner teams to ensure governance routines are executed effectively.
  • Maintain required documentation, evidence packs, status reporting, and adherence to internal policy and control expectations.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and remediation actions to closure; elevate blockers and control concerns promptly with clear options and recommendations.
  • Provide regular, structured updates to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency of progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Manage US portfolio governance, including FRP, PI planning and budgets.
  • Provide support for US integration of business cases for innovation and CTB
  • Prepare materials for US governance forums
  • Americas indirect cost management lead: Own the Americas indirect cost management cadence, partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to monitor spend, forecast outcomes, and identify variances.
  • Stakeholder influence: Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, translating complex financial and operational information into concise, decision-ready updates, and driving alignment on priorities, actions, and timelines.
  • Collaboration: Contribute as a core member of the Americas Finance COO team, strengthening connectivity across Finance and partner functions, enabling effective cross-team delivery, and promoting consistent ways of working.
Qualifications and Skills required:
  • Experience coordinating monthly reporting cycles (actuals and forecast) and producing leadership-ready MI.

  • Strong attention to detail, version control discipline, and ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel.
  • Strong organization skills: timelines, action tracking, dependency management, and follow-through to closure.
  • Clear written communication for status updates, minutes, action logs, and executive summaries.
  • Experience in indirect cost management and/or cost action tracking within a large, regulated organization.
  • Knowledge of third-party/service management concepts (service recipient, contract owner, supplier governance).
  • Financial services experience and familiarity with operating in a risk-and-control conscious environment.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, or related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in business management, finance COO, finance operations/PMO, or management reporting roles.
