Job summary

SMEC Philippines seeks a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the design and analysis of bridges and transportation structures in Metro Manila. You will develop drawings, perform advanced calculations, and ensure safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness across projects.

You will coordinate with geotechnical, highway, hydraulics, and architecture teams, prepare work plans, reviews, and tender documents while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Licensed/registered Civil Engineer with 8+ years in bridge or structural design.
• Proficiency in structural software such as MIDAS or STAAD.
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles, materials engineering, and construction methods.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges and transportation structures.
• Perform advanced calculations using MIDAS Civil, STAAD, and similar tools.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings and specs.
• Ensure safety, durability, constructability, and cost-efficiency of designs.
• Coordinate design activities with geotechnical, highway, hydraulics, architecture teams.
• Provide site support during construction and respond to RFIs and shop drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct internal technical trainings.
