Job summary

ClickSend, part of the Sinch Group, is hiring a Software Engineer to join a product engineering squad and help build a modern messaging platform. You will design, implement and maintain features from requirements through production, write clean code, break down complex problems, and participate in design discussions.

You will work with NodeJS and TypeScript, leverage AWS and CI/CD pipelines, and focus on security, performance and cost.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping and maintaining production software.
• At least 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript
• Strong knowledge of backend ecosystems including SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging brokers (e.g., SQS, RabbitMQ), and common software design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain features independently, from requirements through to production.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that follows team standards and best practices.
• Break down moderately complex problems into well-scoped tasks and deliver them on time.
• Take part in technical design discussions, contribute ideas and weigh trade-offs.
• Review peers' code and give constructive feedback.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code to keep deployments reliable.
• Develop and run services on AWS, with attention to performance, security and cost.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents and contribute to root-cause analysis and fixes.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration and end-to-end) to keep quality high.
• Keep technical documentation, runbooks and architecture notes up to date.
• Work with product managers, QA, designers and other engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Find and address technical debt, and suggest improvements to tools, processes and system design.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and share what you learn with the team.
