Job summary

Pluxee España is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Payments Squad in Lleida. You will help build the engine that moves money globally, focusing on resilience, idempotency, and fault tolerance.

You will work closely with React/React Native teams while keeping backend 100% focused. Requirements include 5+ years in production-grade systems, strong Node.js/TypeScript skills, and experience with distributed architectures. Fluency in Spanish and English is valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production-grade backend experience.
• Experience with Node.js ecosystem is a plus.
• Deep understanding of race conditions, eventual consistency, idempotency, and message brokers.
• Experience with banking systems, payment gateways, ledger or reconciliation processes is a plus.
• AI-based development: ability to leverage AI tools for problem solving and workflow optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in high-concurrency environments.
• Experience with automated testing patterns and shift-left security mindset.
• Growth mindset with willingness to learn and mentor others.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design resilient backend services for high-volume traffic with 100% data consistency.
• Evolve existing systems into scalable, event-driven architectures.
• Lead testing strategy and performance simulations; ensure quality.
• Monitor production health and resolve bottlenecks with observability.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring.
• Leverage AI tools to speed development and automate tasks.
