Job summary

Jobgether seeks a capable backend-focused software engineer to build and evolve critical infrastructure for a growing payment technology platform. You will own projects end to end, from problem framing through architecture, implementation, testing, and production delivery.

Responsibilities span backend development, payment integrations, data pipelines, and reliability-focused systems, with occasional frontend work using Next.js and React.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering expertise with ability to contribute across the full stack.
• Proven experience with Python, Next.js, React, and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to independently design, build, ship, and maintain production systems.
• Strong system design skills and sound technical judgment in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own software projects end to end, from understanding objectives through implementation and production ownership.
• Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting payment recovery, billing, and subscription workflows.
• Develop and manage integrations with payment providers, third-party APIs, and external services.
• Build robust data models, ingestion pipelines, reconciliation processes, and scalable data operations.
• Design and improve retry, orchestration, and payment recovery infrastructure for reliability.
• Contribute to ML experiments, performance analysis, and data-driven initiatives.
• Develop and maintain email and push notifications and customer-facing features.
• Contribute across the frontend when required, using Next.js and React.
• Make architectural and technical decisions independently when requirements are evolving.
• Identify failure modes, edge cases, scalability concerns, and operational risks.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation while reviewing generated code.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and collaborative engineering practices.
• Continuously improve engineering processes as the product scales.
