Job summary

Maya is seeking a backend-focused software engineer with strong Java/Spring Boot experience to design, implement, and operate production systems. You will own medium-to-large projects end-to-end, from requirements to deployment and production support, collaborating with product owners, SRE, and engineers.

The role emphasizes cloud-native development on AWS, microservices, and distributed systems, with a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work with legacy as well as new systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/IT/CE or equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of software development experience.
• Solid experience in Java and OOP design.
• Spring Boot framework experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud apps.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microservices is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes or container deployments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and solutions supporting product/platform capabilities.
• Lead medium-to-large software engineering projects end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot services that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Build cloud-ready solutions using AWS and established standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Improve existing systems through refactoring, automation, observability, and ops improvements.
