Job summary

Teamified is building a scalable backend platform for its Australian FinTech client, delivering card issuing, spend management, and real-time expense visibility. You’ll help shape architecture, write production Django code, and implement AI-enabled engineering workflows while collaborating with stakeholders in Melbourne and across teams.

You will ship production code in your first week, drive robust testing, and own deployments in a fast-paced, enterprise SLAs environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend engineering, Django focus and production apps.
• Deep Django ORM, migrations, permissions, DRF, async tasks.
• Strong PostgreSQL data modelling skills and testing mindset.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security basics incl. auth with providers like Auth0/Okta.
• Ownership from design to production and accountability.
• Clear communication with Product and non-technical teams.
• Nice to have: fintech/payments experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own backend services in Django/DRF powering web portal and mobile apps.
• Develop payments core: card issuing, lifecycle, spend controls, webhooks with partners.
• Enhance existing features and workflows; ship AI-powered product features.
• Lead technical design: docs, ADRs, decompositions, architecture simplification.
• Improve test coverage and SDLC/AI-DLC processes; raise engineering bar.
• Ensure production quality: monitoring/Datadog, incident response, on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and advocate for AI tooling in development.
