Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with deep AWS expertise to join our team as an AWS Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer. You will increase visibility into cloud spending by developing a data-driven approach to alerting, reporting, and optimizing cloud costs.

The right candidate will have hands-on DevOps or SRE experience, be proficient in cost analysis at scale, and collaborate with multinational teams to drive cost improvements and KPI-driven results.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of AWS cloud experience with cost reporting and optimization at scale.
• Experience with AWS EKS and containerization.
• Proficiency with AWS tools for cost management and reporting (Cost Explorer, CUR, Budgets).
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform for automation and infra mgmt.
• Ability to create cost optimization dashboards and reports for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities and ROI improvements.
• Understand client architecture, deployment, and cost components across the cloud environment.
• Advise on architecture, resource optimization, waste reduction, capacity management, and KPI development.
• Monitor cloud spending and investigate cost increases and usage anomalies.
• Track utilization of reservations and savings plans and reallocate capacity as needed.
• Analyze data patterns to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Identify savings opportunities related to reservations, savings plans, and spot instances.
• Develop actionable plans for efficiency and cost savings.
• Build and maintain cost and utilization reports, dashboards, and automated alerts.
• Implement dashboards and automated reporting to track cost compliance.
• Contribute to governance of cost optimization policies and best practices.
