Job summary

SGV & Co. is seeking an Associate Auditor to contribute to Assurance Services in Makati. The role focuses on reviewing financial statements for compliance with Philippine standards and regulatory requirements, and communicating findings to stakeholders.

Key duties include drafting audit work programs, performing procedures, coaching junior staff, and building strong client relationships while delivering objective insights on accounting and financial reporting matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy is required.
• A current CPA license in the Philippines is required.
• 2–3 years of work experience or at least 2 busy seasons in external audit is preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (PFRS, PAS) and taxation is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Philippines Financial Reporting Standards and related regulations (SEC, BIR, BSP, IC).
• Prepare audit work programs, draft audit reports, and management letters.
• Implement complex audit procedures and develop client-focused audit strategies.
• Provide coaching and review to associates and supervise their work in detail.
• Proactively build relationships with client personnel and address problems with flexibility.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Philippines Financial Reporting Standards and in related financial reporting matter as well as expertise in relevant SEC, BIR, BSP and IC regulations
• Prepare audit work programs, draft audit reports, management letters, etc.
• Implement complex and specific audit procedures, while developing effective and client-focused audit strategies
• Provide coaching and counselling to associates, and perform detailed reviews on their work
• Proactively build relationship with client personnel, and demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in handling client’s problems

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
• A current license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Philippines
• Preferably 2-3 years of work experience or at least 2 busy seasons in external audit
• Knowledge and understanding of accounting and auditing standards i.e. PFRS, PAS, and Taxation
