Job summary

Wiley & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Executive to manage end-to-end AR and cash application within our finance team.

You will post customer payments, resolve complex queries, perform reconciliations, and support month-end close with strong internal controls. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable & Accounting Systems, you will collaborate with collections and finance stakeholders across time zones to meet KPIs, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and SOX

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s degree in commerce or MBA preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or shared services accounting.
• Strong understanding of cash application processes and reconciliations.
• Hands-on SAP experience is mandatory.
• Advanced Excel skills include formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and AR processes.
• Ability to manage high-volume transactions with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process cash and credit card payments, refunds, and special customer allocations accurately and timely.
• Perform daily, weekly, and month-end reconciliations including credit card and collection reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer payment queries through detailed analysis.
• Prepare journal entries for month-end reporting, including AR trade receipts.
• Deliver timely cash application and AR reports to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements; support audits.
• Meet defined KPIs and SLAs with accuracy and timeliness.
• Document processes and train new hires on cash applications and reporting.
