Job summary

Globant Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to sustain and maintain large-scale mobile apps. You will focus on performance, stability, and timely releases while addressing real-time user-reported issues.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting production bugs, refactoring legacy code to modern architectures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting. Strong Kotlin/Java and debugging skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of native mobile development experience with a track record of supporting and maintaining live, large-scale consumer applications.
• Android development with Kotlin and Java proficiency; solid knowledge of Android SDK and Jetpack components.
• Experience with modern architectures (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture) and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production bugs, crash reports, and performance bottlenecks across iOS and Android apps.
• Own the continuous release pipeline, including App Store Connect and Google Play deployments, certificates, provisioning, and compliance updates.
• Refactor legacy code (Objective-C to Swift, Java to Kotlin) to improve maintainability and performance.
• Monitor app health with Crashlytics, Sentry, Datadog, and similar tools; fix memory leaks and latency issues.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, backend teams, and product owners in an Agile Pod; deliver bug fixes and minor feature enhancements.
