About the Role We are looking for an experienced Mobile Application Developer with a strong Sustainment and Maintenance background to maintain, optimize, and evolve production-grade iOS and Android applications. In this role, you will join an Agile Pod dedicated to continuous improvement, incident resolution, performance tuning, and technical debt management.
Rather than building greenfield apps from scratch, your focus will be on ensuring 99.9% uptime, seamless store releases, legacy code refactoring, and addressing real-time user-reported issues for large-scale global applications.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical production bugs, crash reports, and performance bottlenecks across both native iOS and Android applications. Application Lifecycle Management: Own the continuous release pipeline—managing App Store (Connect) and Google Play Console deployments, certificate management, provisioning profiles, and compliance updates.
Legacy Code Modernization: Refactor existing legacy codebases (Objective-C to Swift, Java to Kotlin) to improve maintainability, stability, and adherence to modern architectural standards (MVVM, Clean Architecture). Monitoring & Crash Analytics:
Monitor application health using tools like Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic. Proactively fix memory leaks, high battery consumption, and rendering latency.
API & OS Compatibility: Update apps for new iOS/Android major releases, API deprecations, and third-party SDK updates (e.g., payment gateways, analytics, social login). Cross-Functional Agile Collaboration:
Work closely with QA, DevOps, backend teams, and Product Owners within an Agile Pod structure to deliver bug fixes and minor feature enhancement sprints. What Will Help
10+ years of native mobile development experience with a track record of supporting and maintaining live, large-scale consumer applications. Android Expertise: Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of
Kotlin and Java
, Android SDK, and Jetpack components. Architecture & Patterns: Deep understanding of architectural patterns (MVVM, MVP, VIPER, Clean Architecture) and SOLID principles.
Debugging & Profiling: Advanced skills with Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler, ADB, Charles Proxy/Fiddler, and Crashlytics to isolate root causes in complex apps. CI/CD & Release Automation:
Hands-on experience with continuous integration and distribution tools like Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Testing: Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests (XCTest, JUnit, Espresso) to avoid regressions during bug fixes.
Sustainment & Operations Mindset Root Cause Analysis: Exceptional problem-solving skills; ability to take a step back and look at the bigger architectural picture when fixing systemic bugs.
