Job summary

Willis Towers Watson in Manila is seeking a Senior Analyst Retirement Actuarial Consulting to support delivery of retirement valuation and design work, including plan conversions and other retirement benefit services.

You will contribute to data preparation, valuation analyses, plan benchmarking, projections, and reporting, working with clients and senior consultants to ensure high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in core valuation for client service in large corporate plans.
• Experience managing multiple projects within prescribed guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in client teams with a fast-paced environment.
• Progress toward AASP/ASA credentials.

The Role

As aSenior Analyst Retirement Actuarial Consulting, you will support the delivery of quality Retirement solutions covering plan valuations, design & review including plan conversions, and other retirement benefit services. You may also get involved in insurance, health, and other risk projects requiring actuarial support.

Performance Objectives:

Excellence:

• Provide technical assistance to the Consultant/Senior Consultant in the following areas:
  • Data preparation, validation & reconciliation
  • Assumption setting
  • Actuarial valuation of retirement plans, including the use of WTW standard valuation software.
  • Analysis of valuation results
  • Plan benchmarking, design, and costing
  • Retirement plan set-up, review, and harmonization
  • Benefit projections and individual benefit calculations
  • Other projects requiring actuarial skills (other employee benefits, insurance, HMO, etc.)
• Prepare the following reports:
  • Actuarial valuation reports for local funding and accounting standards (local and international) purposes
  • Comparative plan summaries upon request of clients
  • Drafting of plan rules
  • Presentation and sales materials
• Assists the Consultant/Senior Consultant in the presentation of results.
• May act as the lead and client’s main contact person within WTW.

• +3 years experience conducting core valuation work in a client-service-oriented environment with large corporate defined benefit plans; defined contribution plan experience a plus
• Proven experience managing multiple projects within prescribed project guidelines
• Strong client relationship, interpersonal, and team skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate
• Ability to respond to all communications effectively and on time
• Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues, strong client service orientation
• Demonstrated leadership qualities
• Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
• Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related fields
• Significant actuarial exam progress toward AASP/ASA credentials
