Job summary

Salud Healthcare is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to own the financial planning cycle, including budget, forecast, close package and P&L reporting. You will build and refine core models with the AVP of Healthcare Economics and run them monthly.

The role requires advanced Excel modeling, accrual accounting fluency, SQL data pulling, and strong written commentary. Prior U.S. managed care or capitation is preferred, with AI tooling to accelerate analysis.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in FP&A, corporate finance or financial analytics.
• Advanced Excel modeling with multi-driver P&Ls.
• Fluent use of AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT) for analysis and documentation.
• SQL to pull and shape data; accrual accounting and month-end close fluency.
• Ownership of a recurring monthly FP&A cycle and timely delivery.
• Strong written English to accompany numbers with commentary.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the annual budget and quarterly reforecast, including the driver model beneath them.
• Produce the monthly close package by entity and consolidated, on a published close calendar.
• Run variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior period, with driver commentary.
• Build and maintain P&L views by entity, service line, payer, market and provider organization.
• Model downstream capitation and risk arrangements—surplus, withhold exposure, sensitivity to membership and cost.
• Analyze medical loss ratio trend and decompose drivers: utilization, unit cost, acuity and mix.
• Produce membership roll-forwards and reconcile capitation remittances against expected payment.
• Build practice-level pro forma and ROI models for prospective affiliates; ad-hoc analyses for joint operating committees.

Salud Healthcare is a value-based care organization. This new role owns the financial planning cycle — budget, forecast, close package and P&L reporting — and supplies modeling support to Growth and Provider Relations. Core models are built with the AVP of Healthcare Economics; the Senior Analyst then owns running and improving them monthly.

• Build and maintain the annual budget and quarterly reforecast, including the driver model beneath them — membership, PMPM revenue, medical cost and G&A.
• Produce the monthly close package by entity and consolidated, on a published close calendar.
• Run variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior period, and write the commentary explaining the drivers.
• Build and maintain P&L views by entity, service line, payer, market and provider organization.
• Model downstream capitation and risk arrangements — expected versus actual surplus, withhold exposure, and sensitivity to membership and cost.
• Analyze medical loss ratio trend and decompose the drivers: utilization, unit cost, acuity and mix.
• Produce membership roll-forwards and reconcile capitation remittances against expected payment.

Growth and Provider Relations

• Build practice-level pro forma and ROI models for prospective affiliates, and turn around ad-hoc analyses for joint operating committees and practice business reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years in FP&A, corporate finance or financial analytics — a genuine finance background.
• Advanced Excel modeling. P&Ls and multi-driver models built from a blank sheet — and built so someone else can audit and run them. The most important qualification for this role.
• Fluent use of AI tools.Claude, ChatGPT or similar, used to move faster on analysis, model documentation and drafting — with the judgment to check the output before it reaches a deliverable.
• Working fluency in accrual accounting and the month-end close; SQL sufficient to pull and shape your own data.
• Demonstrated ownership of a recurring monthly cycle — inheriting a model, running it on deadline, improving it.
• Written English strong enough to author the commentary, not just the numbers.

Preferred Qualifications

• U.S. managed care, Medicare Advantage or capitation experience; claims data; multi-entity GL; CPA or MBA.
