Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Airfield Manager for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role oversees airfield operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides leadership across airfield staff in a remote overseas setting.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in airfield management, strong regulatory knowledge (DoD/FAA/NATOPS/ICAO), and the ability to obtain visas, medical clearance, and facility credentials for deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized US/UK accredited institution or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of overall airfield management responsibility.
• Knowledge of DoD, FAA, NATOPS, UFC, ICAO and related airfield regulations.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas and pass medical/security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Diego Garcia airfield operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and directives.
• Serve as primary contact for safe, functional airfield operations with 24/7 readiness.
• Advise Government Air Operations Officer on opening/closing airfield status.
• Enforce compliance with DoD, FAA, NATOPS, UFC, ICAO standards.
• Lead airfield-related construction, repairs, and operations with safety focus.
• Supervise Airfield Management Division personnel within a multi-function base operations environment.
• Prepare documentation for contracting officials for personnel replacements and qualifications.
