Job summary

Bernhard Schulte Gmbh is seeking a Senior Accounts Officer in the Philippines to manage complex accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and lead a small accounting team. The role emphasizes internal controls, process improvements, and collaboration with stakeholders to uphold high standards of accuracy.

Key duties include journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and support for audits and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
• CPA qualification is preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Month-End Closing, and Reconciliations.
• Experience in audit support, taxation, and full-set accounting is desirable.
• Experience in Shared Services or BPO accounting environment is an advantage.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports and investigate variances.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with policies and standards.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and reporting obligations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Monitor deliverables and ensure timelines and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and SOPs.
• Provide mentoring and supervision of Accounts Officers.
