Job summary

TMF Group is seeking a Senior Accounting and Tax Officer to support daily deliverables, research accounting data, and coach junior staff. You will provide financial information to management and ensure timely reporting while maintaining client relationships.

You will work with managers and senior staff to prepare financial statements, manage tax filings, and liaise with auditors and external parties. A CPA-eligible profile is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy required.
• Pursuing or qualified CPA license preferred.
• 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience in professional firms or multinationals.
• Solid knowledge of local tax (CIT, VAT, EWT, FWT, FBT) and accounting policy (PFRS); IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks or any ERP system is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on in preparing and maintaining full set of accounts for multiple clients with high compliance and accuracy.
• Prepares disbursement vouchers for payments.
• Journal entries for month-end financial statements.
• Prepare Monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
• Maintain timely filing and audit trail of documents for each client.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, bankers and authorities as required.
• Liaise with clients for documentation and clarifications to support management accounts and audits.

The Senior Accounting and Tax Officer

assists the Manager, Assistant Manager and/or Supervisor in daily deliverables to provide excellent service to clients. They provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data; preparing reports, submitting the reports to the client and are able to coach junior staff in the department

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on in preparing and maintaining full set of accounts with high complexity for multiple clients while ensuring high standard of compliance and accuracy.
• Prepares disbursement vouchers for payments
• Journal entries for month end Financial Statements
• Monthly Income Statement
• Balance Sheet
• Trial Balance
• Tax Filing
• and other relevant document
• To maintain good client relationship and attend to clients’ queries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Continuous and frequent liaison with clients for documentations, information or clarifications for management accounts preparation and audit purposes.
• Maintain timely and proper filing of documents and information with respect to each individual client’s to ensure audit trail of work done for efficient references.
• Periodic update of process documentation.
• Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key Requirements

• Degree holder in Accountancy;
• Pursuing or qualified in local professional examinations (CPA License);
• 3-4 years relevant experience in general accounting function in professional firms or multinationals;
• Sound knowledge in local tax (CIT, VAT, EWT, FWT, FBT) and accounting policy (PFRS); knowledge in International Accounting (IFRS) will be an advantage;
• Experience in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules;
• Knowledge in Quick Books or any ERP System is an advantage;
• Good knowledge of local system (e.g. Viewpoint);
• Advanced Excel skill set and other Microsoft Office applications;
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Filipino.
