Senior Accounting Officer

The Senior Accounting Officer plays a critical leadership role in the finance department. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations including daily audit, sales reconciliation, and report generation. The role supervises two Accounting Associates, ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial data and reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision & Oversight
• Supervise and support 2 to 3 Accounting Associates in daily tasks (eg. daily Audit and Reconcillation)
• Review their work outputs (audit logs, reports, reconciliations) for accuracy and completeness.
• approve payment requests to suppliers
• Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
• Daily Audit & Reconciliation
• Monitor and audit all financial transactions and sales entries across systems (e.g., LakbayHub, direct payments, GCash).
• Reconcile system reports vs. collections and escalate any discrepancies.
• Track wallet credits, payment gateway issues, and refund logs.
• Prepare consolidated daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
• Analyze trends and report variances to management.
• Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and government requirements (e.g., BIR, SSS, SEC).
• Maintain organized financial documentation for audit readiness.
• Process Improvement
• Recommend improvements in financial workflows.
• Coordinate with operations and platform teams to streamline reconciliations and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior role.
• Strong background in reconciliation, audit, and sales reporting.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot, vlookup, formulas).
• Familiar with accounting tools (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
