Job summary

Business Support Outsourcing, Inc. (BSO) is a Philippine-based firm providing remote accounting and business support services to Pacific American Fish Company (PAFCO). The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Manager and Controller in all accounting procedures and ensures compliance with US GAAP.

Based in the Philippines, the role follows a graveyard shift to align with U.S. business hours and supports U.S.-based operations, departments, and stakeholders with data from multiple systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• MBA/CPA preferred.
• At least more than 5 years related experience in a similar role.
• General knowledge of accounting/financial reporting principles in US GAAP.
• Experience developing financial reports and metrics.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
• Highly meticulous and organized.
• Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge with ERP accounting software and migration experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Accounting Manager and Controller in month-end closing, preparing schedules, analyses, postings, and financial reports.
• Ensure integrity of accounting information by reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare balance sheet and P&L analyses to identify variances and provide explanations/recommendations.
• Assist in monthly bank reconciliation, AR-GL, and AP-GL reconciliations.
• Assist in year-end audit, providing schedules and financial reports to external auditors.
• Assist in ERP/software migration projects.
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Perform other related tasks as required.
