Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant to bolster the finance team. You will oversee month-end close, analyze financial data, and ensure accurate reporting for a portfolio in the construction sector.

This fully remote role supports the Controller, leads accounting projects, and mentors Bookkeepers to maintain clean records. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, US GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/QuickBooks skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
At least 3 years of accounting experience.
Experience with US GAAP preferred.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level accounting support and partner with Controller on accounting and financial reporting activities.
Manage month-end close, including project costs, accruals, and client billings.
Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Perform job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and project closeouts.
Review and approve Bookkeepers' work for accuracy and compliance with standards.
Perform reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reviews, and audits.
Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable, payroll, and credit card reconciliations.
Assist with client onboarding and process improvements.
