Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care Philippines is seeking a Senior Accountant, Accounting to Reporting to ensure timely and accurate general ledger recording, month-end close, and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS/GAAP within a shared services framework.

The role includes balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany activity, fixed assets processing, disclosures, and liaison with auditors, with SOX controls and process improvements as focal points.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Typically 3–5 years of finance professional experience, especially in accounting processes.
• Experience in a General Ledger function is essential.
• Knowledge in SAP System and experience in Shared Services Center/BPO.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end closing calendar and ensure all activities are completed within the set timeline.
• Perform financial close processes such as opening/closing of the books, balance carry forward, foreign currency revaluation, depreciation, intercompany reconciliation and balance confirmation.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts and ensure variances are substantiated and resolved promptly.
• Prepare and post standard, recurring, and ad hoc journal entries.
• Prioritize workload to enable quick turnaround time, especially at month-end, while maintaining high quality work output.
• Prepare information required for financial statement disclosures and audit requirements.
• Comply with reportorial requirements and standards set by the SLA (IFRS, GAAP).
• Liaise with internal auditors and ensure SOX controls are in place.
• Ensure accounting matters adhere to deadlines and statutory requirements.
• May be involved with projects aimed at improving processes and migrations of countries/processes.
• Review SSC reports and provide commentary on variances to management.
