Job summary

Cloudstaff is seeking a Senior Accountant (CAS) to provide outsourced accounting and consulting services for a diverse client base in the Philippines. You will oversee ledgers, perform reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and generate monthly financial statements in line with GAAP.

The role emphasizes variance analysis, audit schedules, and supporting audits, while driving process improvements and system implementations to boost efficiency. Mentoring junior staff is also expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and master’s in accounting.
• CPA (US or local) or working toward.
• 3-5 years of public accounting or relevant experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain general ledgers for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and prepare complex journal entries, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for clients, providing insights on trends and variances.
• Conduct variance analysis and financial reviews to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement, and recommend actionable solutions.
• Prepare comprehensive audit schedules and support external and internal audits, acting as a key point of contact for audit inquiries.
• Assist in implementing and improving accounting systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Mentor and support junior staff by reviewing work, providing guidance, and fostering professional development within the accounting team.
