Job summary

Clearly Financials Professional Corporation is hiring a Senior Accountant to manage Canadian small-business files from client records to CPA review. You will prepare compilations, year-end papers and tax returns while mentoring junior staff.

You will report to the production manager and work remotely from the Philippines, overlapping Alberta hours for team meetings. Strong English and caseware skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of accounting experience, including Canadian compilation engagements and tax prep.
• Hands-on CaseWare Working Papers experience and ability to prepare files through reviewer submission.
• Experience with Canadian tax software; TaxCycle preferred; ProFile/Taxprep acceptable.
• Knowledge of Canadian corporate/personal tax, GST/HST and T-slips.
• Strong QuickBooks Online and Excel skills.
• Clear written and spoken English; able to explain issues and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compilation engagement files under CSRS 4200 with year-end working papers and financial statements in CaseWare.
• Prepare T2 corporate returns, T1 personal returns, schedules and T-slips for CPA review.
• Review QuickBooks Online records for correct coding and GST/HST treatment.
• Prepare reconciliations, GST/HST papers and year-end adjusting entries with documentation.
• Investigate discrepancies and flag items needing Canadian CPA guidance.
• Assist juniors with questions, reconciliations and file prep; explain corrections.
• Respond to review notes and apply feedback to future files.
• Keep tasks and status current in Karbon; coordinate priorities and flag delays.
