Job summary

Treantly is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a Canadian accounting firm serving owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations. You will manage a portfolio, oversee accounting and tax engagements, and mentor junior staff while ensuring accuracy and professionalism.

Role requires CPA/CA, 5+ years in public accounting, strong knowledge of Canadian standards, and ability to work Canadian hours remotely from the Philippines.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and taxation.
• Experience with compilation engagements and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Caseware, Profile, and MS Office; familiarity with QuickBooks Online and Xero.
• Experience supervising junior staff and strong English communication.
• Ability to work remotely with Canadian business hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of accounting and tax services.
• Perform controller-level responsibilities including financial reporting and oversight.
• Review bookkeeping records, compilation engagements, and tax returns.
• Prepare compilation engagements, financial statements, and Canadian corporate tax returns.
• Assist with review, audit, and consulting engagements as needed.
• Oversee payroll processing and GST filings; review payroll records for accuracy.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; mentor junior staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement efficient workflows.
