Job summary

GUS Education PH is seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA) to lead core accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting within a PEZA-enabled multinational setup in Bridgetowne, Quezon City.

The role covers end-to-end general ledger maintenance, monthly close, tax filings (BIR, VAT, EWT), PEZA reports, and audit readiness, with a hybrid work model: onsite for 3 months, then 4 days work from home and 1 day in the office after review; strong internal controls and SoD are required to safeguard

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience covering General Ledger, bank reconciliation, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Big 4 accounting firm experience is required.
• Must be a CPA with a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
• Hands-on experience with Philippine tax compliance, including BIR requirements, VAT, EWT, and statutory filings.
• Experience with PEZA compliance and reporting is highly preferred.
• Experience in a PEZA-registered company, multinational organization, or audit firm is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, month-end close, General Ledger management, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
• Working knowledge of internal controls and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
• Proficiency in ERP accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, cell protection, and basic financial modeling.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external auditors.
• High level of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and commitment to compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger records and prepare journal entries.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet and P&L schedules for Finance Manager and Group Finance.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
