Job summary

Balboa Digital PH is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support US-based operations. The role focuses on general ledger, month-end close, lease accounting under ASC 842, and payroll-related accounting, with daily cash management and NetSuite reporting.

The position requires an active CPA license, flawless English communication, and availability for US Eastern Time hours (9:00–5:00 ET), Monday to Friday, from the Philippines. Prior remote support for a US-based company is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years general ledger accounting, month-end close and reconciliations.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting.

Responsibilities

• Set up, transfer and close utility accounts for new offices and moves.
• Process monthly utility payments via vendor portals.
• Own LeaseQuery: set up leases, maintain leases and book quarterly adjusting entries (ASC 842).
• Update rent templates and upload rent invoices to Ramp.
• Be point of contact for landlords as needed.
• Allocate payroll-related insurance costs and prepare journal entries.
• Keep employee insurance database current.
• Perform daily cash matching and month-end bank reconciliations.
• Build and maintain NetSuite reports and saved searches for finance and leadership.
• Upload templates and provide internal NetSuite reporting support.
• Act as in-house NetSuite reporting resource and provide backup coverage.
• Provide backup for accounts payable processing in Ramp and related entries.
• Back up guardianship accounting function.

Job description

Real estate and leases

• Own LeaseQuery (FinQuery): set up new leases, maintain existing leases and book the quarterly adjusting journal entries (ASC 842)
• Update the monthly rent template and upload rent invoices to Ramp
• Serve as a point of contact for landlords as needed

Payroll insurance accounting

• Allocate payroll-related insurance costs, research variances and prepare journal entries
• Keep the employee insurance database current

Cash management

• Perform daily cash matching
• Complete the month-end bank reconciliation for the main operating account

NetSuite reporting

• Build and maintain custom NetSuite reports and saved searches for the finance team and leadership
• Template uploads
• Act as the team's in-house resource for NetSuite reporting questions
• Backup coverage
• Serve as the fully trained backup for accounts payable, including Ramp processing and related journal entries
• Back up the guardianship accounting function

Required qualifications

• Active CPA license
• Fluent, professional English, written and spoken, for daily communication with a US-based team, landlords and vendors
• Able to work a full US Eastern Time business day (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET), Monday through Friday
• Advanced Excel skills: complex lookups, pivot tables, nested logic and building clean, well-structured models from scratch
• 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entries and account reconciliations
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, including lease accounting under ASC 842
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to own processes with minimal supervision

• Experience supporting a US-based company remotely
• NetSuite experience, especially building custom reports and saved searches
• Experience with LeaseQuery or a similar lease accounting tool
• Experience with Ramp or a similar AP and spend management platform
