JJR Ryan Consulting in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to establish and maintain the company’s internal accounting capability. You will manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping in Xero, including AP/AR, month end close and payroll accounting, while coordinating with international stakeholders and local authorities.

You will report to the CFO and drive improvements in finance controls, record keeping and compliance, ensuring timely financial reporting and audit readiness across

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• At least three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Practical Xero experience is essential.
• Experience with payroll and statutory obligations (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) desired.
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to establish and maintain the company’s internal accounting capability in the Philippines.

Reporting to the Australian based CFO, the Senior Accountant will manage day to day accounting activities in Xero, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, month end reporting, payroll accounting and compliance support.

The role will also coordinate with internal stakeholders, external accountants, tax advisers, banks and relevant statutory authorities.

About you

You are accurate, organised, proactive and accountable. You can work independently, investigate discrepancies, meet deadlines and maintain complete supporting records. You communicate clearly with international stakeholders and understand the importance of confidentiality, internal controls and audit ready documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in Xero
• Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, journals, expenses and other accounting transactions
• Maintain general ledger coding and supporting documentation
• Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare month end close activities and management reporting packs
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow information
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up unresolved items
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances with JJR Australia and other JJR entities
• Maintain fixed asset and prepayment schedules where applicable
• Support BIR tax compliance, reconciliations and filing documentation
• Coordinate with external accountants and corporate service providers regarding statutory books and compliance filings
• Maintain payroll accounting records and reconcile statutory deductions and contributions, including SSS, PhilHealth and Pag IBIG
• Support audit, tax, banking and other compliance requests
• Maintain organised electronic records and clear audit trails for transactions and approvals
• Identify and resolve unreconciled or unusual transactions promptly
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of finance procedures and internal controls
• Provide finance analysis and general support to the Chief Financial Officer as required

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline
• At least three years of relevant accounting experience
• Practical experience using Xero is essential
• Strong experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, month end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journals and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience with Philippine BIR requirements and statutory compliance is strongly preferred
• Experience with payroll accounting and statutory obligations, including SSS, PhilHealth and Pag IBIG, is desirable
• Experience in small or medium enterprise, or multi entity environment is desirable
• CPA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred but not essential
