Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Security Guard in commercial or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activity.
• Monitor entry/exit points and verify identifications to ensure only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
• Maintain comprehensive security logs and incident reports for all observations and events.
• Respond promptly to security alarms and investigate disturbances or breaches in security protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors, doors, locks, windows and security systems to identify vulnerabilities.
• Enforce company security policies and address violations professionally.
• Communicate effectively with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
• Maintain vigilance across all hours of operation, including night, weekend shifts.
• Assist visitors and staff with directions while maintaining site security.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive security logs and incident reports, documenting all observations and events throughout your shift

• Respond promptly to security alarms and investigate disturbances or breaches in security protocols

• Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors, doors, locks, windows, and security systems to identify vulnerabilities

• Enforce company security policies and procedures, addressing violations appropriately and professionally

• Communicate effectively with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary

• Maintain vigilance during all hours of operation, including overnight and weekend shifts

• Assist visitors and staff with directions while maintaining awareness of site security

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Valid security guard certification or license as required by local regulations

• Proven experience working as a Security Guard in commercial or industrial settings (minimum 2 years preferred)

• Strong observational and communication skills with the ability to remain alert during extended shifts

• Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk and patrol for extended periods

• Professional demeanour and excellent customer service orientation

• Knowledge of security systems, surveillance equipment and access control technology

• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations

• Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to consistent attendance

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
