Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring and patrolling premises, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to security incidents or emergencies. The Security Guard will ensure the safety and well‑being of employees, visitors, and property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor surveillance equipment, access points, and other security systems to detect suspicious activity.
- Patrol designated areas to ensure the safety of people and property, both during and after business hours.
- Prevent unauthorized access to the premises by enforcing entry policies and checking identification.
- Respond to alarms and emergencies promptly, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
- Report incidents, irregularities, and potential hazards to management in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, including checking doors, windows, locks, and alarms.
- Provide assistance to visitors and employees, offering directions and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and daily reports.
- Enforce company policies and regulations related to security, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Assist local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a security guard or in a related field preferred.
- Security Guard License: Must possess a valid security guard license or certification as required by local or state regulations (if applicable).
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs if necessary.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to report incidents clearly and accurately.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent observational skills with the ability to detect unusual or suspicious activity.
- Emergency Response: Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations, with knowledge of basic first aid and safety protocols (preferred).
- Tech‑Savvy: Comfort with using security equipment, surveillance systems, and reporting tools.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the security needs of the site.
- Customer Service: Ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, and the general public, ensuring safety while maintaining a positive environment.
