Job Description
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a secure environment by patrolling and monitoring premises, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and property. This position involves surveillance, enforcing policies, and reporting incidents to maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol Premises: Regularly patrol assigned areas, including buildings, parking lots, and other properties, to detect and deter suspicious activities.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate and monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
- Respond to Incidents: Respond quickly to emergencies, including alarms, fire outbreaks, or accidents, and follow appropriate procedures.
- Access Control: Monitor entrances and exits, verify credentials, and enforce access control policies to restrict unauthorized entry.
- Write Reports: Document and report all incidents, accidents, and unusual activities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs.
- Enforce Policies: Enforce site-specific rules and regulations, including parking, safety, and conduct policies.
- Assist Visitors: Provide assistance to visitors and employees by answering questions or directing them to proper locations.
- First Aid: Provide first aid or CPR when necessary and assist emergency responders during medical emergencies.
- Coordinate with Law Enforcement: When required, communicate with local authorities or law enforcement to report incidents or resolve security concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military is preferred.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Basic knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
- Valid security guard license (if required by local laws).
- Physical stamina to walk, stand, or patrol for extended periods.
