Responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap for the digital banking platform and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Drive reduction of technical debt and optimization for speed and availability.
• Directly manage a team of Resolution Managers and oversee platform KPIs and SLAs.
• Mentor multiple technical teams and participate in hiring and staff development.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align services and support.

Job Summary

The Section Head of Digital Channels Engineering will serve as the technical leader responsible for the operational health, performance, and day-to-day management of our digital banking applications. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage multiple teams, including a team of resolution managers, and oversee critical platform initiatives. You will be instrumental in addressing technical debt, identifying optimization opportunities for speed and availability, and ensuringthe stability of our applications and their back-office portals. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional who can translate high-level strategy into technical execution and foster a culture of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Execution & Delivery:

• Execute the technical roadmap for the digital banking platform, ensuring all projects and initiatives are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
• Lead the strategy for managing and reducing the platform's technical debt, working with teams to prioritize and implement solutions.
• Drive efforts to identify and implement optimization opportunities to improve the speed and availability of all platform applications.

Operational Management & Incident Resolution:

• Directly manage a team of Resolution Managers, defining and continuously improving the processes for incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Oversee the day-to-day stability and functionality of the applications' back-office portal.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for the platform, ensuring all operational targets are met.
• Lead, mentor, and coach multiple technical teams, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and be actively involved in the hiring and professional development of team members.
• Manage team capacity and allocate resources to ensure project timelines and operational goals are achieved.
• Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing updates on platform performance, project status, and technical initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and third-party partners to ensure services and technical support align with our needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in enterprise software development and implementation, with at least 5-7 years in a technical leadership or management role.
• Proven experience leading technical teams in a financial services or digital banking environment.
• Knowledge area:
  • Deep expertise in the technologies common to digital banking platforms including: Core (Java, Spring Framework), Front-end (Angular, Kotlin, Swift), Build (Maven, Gradle), Cloud (Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment on platforms like
    AWS or Azure)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for database queries, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • A solid understanding of Microservices Architecture and API integrations (REST/SOAP)
• Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas
