Responsibilities

• Maintain navigational charts, plot courses, and ensure vessel positioning with modern navigation equipment.
• Conduct navigational watches and ensure compliance with international rules and safety protocols.
• Supervise cargo operations, including loading, stowing, and unloading with safety standards.
• Prepare and maintain cargo manifests and documentation.
• Assist Chief Officer with vessel maintenance and equipment upkeep.
• Conduct safety inspections and drills, including lifeboat and fire drills.
• Maintain detailed logbooks of navigational and operational activities.

About the role

COKALIONG SHIPPING LINES INC. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Mate Officer to join our maritime operations team. This is a full-time position based in Cebu City, Cebu, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. As Second Mate Officer, you will be responsible for navigation, cargo operations, and the overall safety of the ship and crew. This position is integral to our commitment to maritime excellence and operational safety within the shipping industry.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining navigational charts, plotting courses, and ensuring accurate vessel positioning using modern navigation equipment and systems

• Conducting navigational watches and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company safety protocols

• Supervising cargo operations, including loading, stowing, and unloading of cargo whilst maintaining safety standards

• Preparing and maintaining detailed cargo documentation and manifests

• Assisting the Chief Officer with vessel maintenance and upkeep of navigation and safety equipment

• Conducting safety inspections and drills, including lifeboat drills and fire prevention exercises

• Maintaining detailed logbooks and records of navigational and operational activities
