Job summary

Coven Information Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant with a strong FI/CO background to design, build, and maintain technical solutions across GL, AP, AR, CCA and PCA. You will work with FI/CO teams to translate business needs into technical specs.

The role requires 6+ years in SAP ABAP, with at least 3 years in FI/CO objects, and familiarity with workflows, interfaces, OData, and S/4HANA concepts. Hybrid work arrangement in Manila, 2 days in office.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on SAP ABAP development with 3+ years FI/CO objects.
• Strong exposure to AP, GL and Controlling essential.
• Experience with RICEFW: reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows.
• Experience with ABAP Workflows and AP invoice workflows is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RICEFW objects for FI/CO processes (GL, AP, AR, CCA, PCA).
• Build and support user exits, BAdIs, enhancements, and BTEs in FI/CO.
• Develop interfaces such as IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and OData services.

• Analyze and resolve issues across FI/CO, including month-end close.
• Tune ABAP programs and CDS views; participate in code reviews.

SAP ABAP Technical Consultant (FI/CO Domain)

Manila, Philippines (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant with at least 5-6 years of experience and strong functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO. You will support our client's SAP Finance and Controlling landscape by designing, building and maintaining technical solutions (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms and workflows), working closely with FI/CO functional teams and finance business users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Development: Design, develop and maintain RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) for FI/CO processes, including GL, AP, AR, Cost Centre Accounting (CCA) and Profit Centre Accounting (PCA). Accounts Payable (AP) will be a strong focus.
• Enhancements & Customization: Build and support user exits, BAdIs, enhancement points, BTEs (Business Transaction Events), substitutions and validations in FI/CO.
• Interfaces & Integration: Develop and troubleshoot IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData services and file-based interfaces, for example bank integration, payment files, vendor invoice intake and third-party finance systems.
• Workflow: Knowledge of SAP Business Workflow, especially AP invoice approval and parking/posting workflows.
• Business Process Support: Work with FI/CO functional consultants and the client's finance team to turn business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
• Issue Resolution: Analyze, debug and resolve technical and functional issues across FI/CO in a timely manner, including month-end close support.
• Performance & Code Quality: Tune ABAP programs and CDS views, follow SAP coding standards, and take part in code reviews.
• Testing & Validation: Support unit testing, integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes and enhancements.
• Documentation: Maintain technical specifications, design documents and support guides.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with finance users, functional consultants, IT teams and third-party vendors to deliver smoothly.
• Change & Enhancement Support: Estimate, assess and implement change requests and system enhancements as the business needs them.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: 6+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development, with at least 3 years on FI/CO-related objects. Strong exposure to AP, GL and Controlling is essential.

• Core ABAP: Reports, ALV, Dialog Programming, OO-ABAP, Function Modules, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs
• SAP Business Workflow
• S/4HANA development: CDS Views, AMDP, OData, Fiori/UI5 basics, ABAP on HANA optimization
• Exposure to ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and clean-core/BTP extensibility is an advantage
• SAP Environments: Proficient in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA. Experience with RISE with SAP is an advantage.
• Domain Knowledge: Good grasp of FI/CO configuration and data structures (e.g., BKPF/BSEG/ACDOCA, BSIK/BSAK, LFA1/LFB1, CSKS/CEPC), the AP process from invoice to payment, the automatic payment program (F110), month-end close and financial reporting.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of core finance and accounting principles.
• Location: Based in Manila, Philippines. Hybrid, with client-site presence required 2 days per week.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
