EXL Service Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Team Lead to oversee U.S. SUT operations, drive accurate reconciliations, timely returns and payments, and provide strong customer and stakeholder support in a busy corporate setting.

The role focuses on coaching, training, and maintaining SLA performance while ensuring audit readiness and continuous process improvements within the tax team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant Sales and Use Tax experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience leading a team in a corporate environment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email.
• Assist customers with exemption certificates, documentation, and account updates.
• Perform reconciliations of SUT accounts and calculate tax liabilities.
• Coordinate timely tax payments and file accurate returns.
• Prepare monthly tax accruals for expenses.
• Support tax audits and respond to notices.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and provide updates on performance, risks, and escalations.
• Ensure SLAs are met.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials.
• Lead, coach, and develop the team through reviews and training.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and compliance; implement corrective actions.
• Resolve complex tax issues and escalations with timely communication.
• Identify process improvements and implement controls for accuracy and efficiency.
