Job summary

SMC Integrated Farm Specialist Inc. invites applications for a Safety Officer 2 to join its safety team in the Philippines, ensuring DOLE compliance and a strong culture of safety.

The role develops and implements safety policies, conducts workplace inspections to identify hazards, provides training to employees and contractors, monitors PPE use, and supports incident investigations and emergency response planning to strengthen overall safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, nursing, environmental science or related fields.
• Experience managing safety programs in medium- to high-risk workplaces.
• Training and certifications in OSH, including 40-hour BOSH, COSH, OSH, SO2.
• Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws and compliance.
• Ability to supervise safety staff and participate in risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in line with approved health and safety plans by DOLE.
• Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards and mitigate risks, including machinery, electrical, chemical, and housekeeping hazards.
• Providing safety training and orientation to employees, contractors, and visitors, including mandatory 8-hour Occupational Safety & Health seminars.
• Monitoring the use of PPE and enforcing compliance with safety standards and GMP or Food Safety practices.
• Assisting in incident investigations and emergency response planning.
• Acting as a representative in health and safety committees and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Hiring Company Overview:

SMC Integrated Farm Specialist Inc. is a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation established in 2018.

SMC-IFSI is engaged in the management, operation, and maintenance of farms, hatcheries, slaughterhouses, fishpond, storage and various facilities and equipment for breeding, hatching, raising, growing, production, slaughter and / or processing of poultry. Fowls, hogs, livestock and other kinds of animals and foodstuffs and other activities allied or incidental thereto such as but not limited to animal feeds, nutrition and healthcare.

A Safety Officer 2 is tasked with ensuring workplace safety and compliance with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not strictly mandatory. Relevant fields include engineering, nursing, environmental science, or related disciplines.

• Experience should demonstrate the ability to manage safety programs in medium- to high-risk workplaces, supervise lower-level safety officers, and participate in risk assessments and emergency preparedness

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training and Certification

Safety Officer 2 must complete the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) SO2 Training,
