Job summary

Asia PeopleWorks, Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer for an on-site role in Makati. You will sustain safety and health management systems, ensure compliance with local regulations, conduct audits and inspections, and prepare monthly safety reports.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience and an engineering-related degree. This 1-2 year contract position requires working Mon-Sat and willingness to be assigned to Pasig area if needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate or any four-year course.

Responsibilities

• Sustain safety and health management system and compliance to local regulations.
• Assist in implementing Safety & Health policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and tool measurements.
• Coordinate with Operations to mitigate risk and maintain safety.
• Support internal and external audits and safety reporting.
• Lead toolbox talks, inspections, and pre-task planning.
• Prepare monthly safety reports for DOLE and JSP Safety Department.
• Monitor compliance with RA 11058 and update risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, establish root causes, and report outcomes.
• Maintain safety records, PPE quality, and certifications.
• Site inductions for new personnel; coordinate permits-to-work and drills.
• Willing to work in 1-2 year contract; Pasig/ Makati area.

Job Description

• Sustain safety and health (S&H) management system and compliance to local and legal regulations
• Assists the S&H Manager in the implementation of Safety & Health policies, procedures, site and office S&H programs, campaigns and processes
• Conducts SI, NGFE, UE and other related audit and inspection management system and safety tools of measurement
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure that risk and hazard are mitigated, and safety is sustained and established
• Assists during internal audits conducted by Jardine Schindler Group
• Assists during external audits conducted by third-party inspectors
• Conducts safety toolbox talks, daily safety inspections and pre-task planning
• Prepares monthly reports for site operation as per DOLE requirement.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly safety reports, including statistics on incidents, inspections, training, and compliance status to JSP Safety Department
• Monitors compliance of field operations with RA 11058
• Identifies site risks and defines corrective action plans for implementation
• Formulates and updates Risk Assessments
• Conducts accident and incident investigations. Lead or assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and preparation of incident reports
• Promptly report all incidents, accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to the JSP Safety Department
• Monitor PPE quality of all site worker (JSEC and subcontractor)
• Site-specific safety inductions for new personnel and visitors
• Coordination with the main contractor on permit-to-work systems, drills, and training
• Maintenance of safety records and equipment certifications
• Incident reporting and monthly safety performance submissions
• Performs other task as necessary as directed by site managers
• Willing to be assigned in Pasig city
• Willing to work in 1 - 2-year contract, from Monday to Saturday
