Frontiertowersphilippines is seeking a highly motivated Power Support Technician to join our technical support team. You will provide efficient technical support for power systems, including RMS, rectifiers, batteries, ATS/MTS, AC systems and generators, ensuring reliability and uptime.
You will diagnose power problems, respond to incidents, assist with upgrades, maintain documentation, and adhere to safety standards.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power Support Technician to join our dynamic technical support team. The Power Support Technician will be responsible for providing efficient and effective technical support for power-related issues, ensuring seamless operations of electrical systems including RMS, and resolving power-related incidents. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams to maintain and enhance the power infrastructure.
Provide in house support to regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on power systems, including rectifiers, batteries, ATS/MTS, AC systems, Remote Monitoring System (RMS) and generators to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Investigate and diagnose power-related issues, such as voltage fluctuations, power outages, or electrical equipment malfunctions, RMS issues using appropriate testing equipment and techniques.
Respond to power-related incidents promptly and effectively. Identify the root cause of the problem and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Be on call and available as second line support to respond to emergency power situations, such as power failures or critical system disruptions, ensuring rapid restoration and minimal downtime.
As in house resource, collaborate with engineering and facilities teams to plan and implement power system upgrades or expansions, ensuring compatibility and adherence to safety standards.
RSOM to maintain accurate records of power system maintenance activities, including inspection reports, test results, and equipment status, including the update of the asset management system to track inventory and lifecycle of electrical components.
Adhere to safety protocols and electrical codes while working with power systems. Stay informed about industry best practices and regulations related to power infrastructure.
Provide guidance and technical training to other team members, ensuring a knowledgeable workforce that can handle basic power-related issues.
In support of power specialist and energy efficiency expert, liaise with power equipment suppliers and service providers to schedule maintenance, procure spare parts, and ensure service level agreements are met and perform SOC testing.
Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing innovative solutions to enhance power system efficiency and reliability.
Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with certification as engineer or technician.
Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in electrical system maintenance, power infrastructure support, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and electrical safety standards preferably in telecom setting.
Proficiency in using testing equipment such as multimeters, battery testers, ground resistance meter, others.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve power-related issues efficiently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime, to respond to emergency situations.
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment when required.
