McGrathNicol’s Risk & Professional Practice team seeks a detail‑oriented candidate to support AML/CTF compliance activities. You will perform CDD, KYC/KYB verification, screening and risk assessments, and help maintain AML records.
You will review customer information for compliance with firm procedures, assist with PEP and adverse media screening, and monitor alerts. Collaboration with remote teams and a push to continuous improvement are key.

The primary focus of the role will be assisting with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) compliance activities, including customer due diligence, screening, monitoring and record management. The role will also support broader risk, compliance and governance initiatives across the firm.
You will gain exposure to regulatory compliance, professional standards and risk management in a professional services environment.
Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) activities, including KYC and KYB verification, screening and risk assessments.
Review customer information and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with AML/CTF requirements and firm procedures.
Assist with beneficial ownership reviews, sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP) and adverse media screening.
Monitor and investigate AML alerts and screening results, escalating higher-risk matters where appropriate.
Maintain AML records and support ongoing monitoring and periodic customer reviews.
Support the administration and maintenance of compliance registers, records and reporting.
Assist in the preparation of compliance reports, presentations and training materials.
Support policy and procedure reviews and updates.
Assist with monitoring adherence to firm policies and professional standards.
Provide administrative support for risk, governance and compliance projects.
Other tasks as reasonably required.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Law, Finance or a related discipline.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse information critically.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
Previous experience in compliance, AML/KYC, risk management, audit, legal, banking or financial services.
Understanding of AML/CTF, KYC or regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience using compliance, screening or case management systems.
Experience supporting an Australian organisation, including familiarity with Australian regulatory or professional services environments.
