Revenue Audit and Verification
Review daily revenue transactions from all hospital departments, including Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Inpatient, and Outpatient Services.
Verify that all services rendered to patients are properly charged and reflected in the patient's Statement of Account.
Audit patient records and supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of billings.
Identify unbilled, underbilled, duplicate, or incorrect charges and coordinate corrections with concerned departments.
Monitor revenue leakages and recommend corrective actions.
Reconcile billed revenues with actual collections and system reports.
Review cancelled, voided, discounted, and adjusted transactions for proper authorization and documentation.
Review and validate that prices encoded in the hospital information system match approved management rates, contracts, and pricing schedules.
Audit newly added or revised prices before and after implementation.
Monitor unauthorized price changes and report discrepancies.
Evaluate controls over system access related to pricing and billing functions.
Coordinate with Accounting, IT, Pharmacy, Purchasing, and other departments regarding pricing concerns.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accounting standards, PhilHealth regulations, HMO agreements, and applicable government requirements.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls related to revenue generation, billing, and collections.
Recommend process improvements to strengthen revenue controls and prevent losses.
Assist in internal and external audits by providing supporting documents and audit reports.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly revenue audit reports.
Document audit findings, exceptions, and recommendations.
Present significant findings to management and monitor corrective actions.
Maintain records of audit reviews and resolutions.
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Internal Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, Financial Management, or related field.
At least 1–3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, hospital billing, or revenue management.
Experience in hospital operations, PhilHealth claims, and HMO billing is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and hospital information systems.
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
