A merchandiser is a strategic role that involves analyzing sales data, sourcing new products, updating systems with the latest products and maintaining planograms for optimal product placement. This position requires a combination of analytical skills, creativity, and attention to detail to ensure that products are displayed attractively, priced competitively, and readily available to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and Sourcing: Identify the bottom 10 less saleable items weekly; Find replacement of items; Seek approval during weekly meetings; Phase out the approved items and replace them with incoming items
- Sourcing and Procurement: Source new merchandise from reputable suppliers based on market trends and customer demand; Source corporate order to immediately serve client; Ensure timely procurement and delivery of new inventory to maintain product availability
- Cost Control: Merchandisers are responsible for calculating the pricing of items, which must be approved by finance before implementation
- Cost Control (continued): Implement cost control measures with a minimum margin of 10% for fresh items (perishable within 7 days) and 30% for items with a regular shelf life (minimum of 3 months); round off to the nearest tenths, with minimum SRP of 20 pesos
- Product Updates and Integration: Approved products should be manually database in Gdrive for product rate sheet master list; Once approved by finance, input the items on the system and indicate the cost, SRP, supplier name, and PAR value; Update product buttons on the Vending Management System (VMS), Hub Point of Sale (POS) system, and catalog for consistency; Seamlessly integrate new items into the systems to ensure accurate product information and pricing
- Planogram Maintenance: Initial Planogram: Merchandisers should maintain the initial planogram for deployment; Flexible Planogram: Designed for machines with highly dynamic procedures to enhance sales results
- Planogram Cycle: Initial planogram: 30-day trial period; Flexible planogram: Rotate the bottom 10 units with new products in a continuous cycle
- Cover Shift: Per performs any tasks assigned/directed to their subordinates in their absence
- Others: Undertake other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time
- Preferably with experience working as Warehouse Associate, Logistics Officer, Cashier or related fields.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a similar role in a related retail environment
- Knowledge in retail operations and experience in managing inventory
- Willing to travel
