A Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that products are well-presented, properly displayed, and fully stocked in retail stores to maximize sales. They maintain good relationships with store staff, monitor inventory levels, and ensure that all products follow company standards and visual merchandising guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and display products according to brand standards and planograms
- Replenish stocks, rotate items, and ensure products are always available on shelves
- Check product expiration dates and remove damaged or expired items
- Conduct inventory counts and report stock levels to supervisors
- Coordinate with store personnel for product placements, promotions, and display availability
- Set up promotional displays, price tags, shelf talkers, and merchandising materials
- Monitor competitor products, pricing, and promotions
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shelves, display racks, and product areas
- Submit daily or weekly reports including photos, stock updates, and sales insights
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines, safety standards, and merchandising procedures
Qualifications
- High school graduate or college level
- Experience in merchandising or retail is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and can handle manual tasks like lifting and stocking
- Willing to travel for store visits or roving assignments
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
