The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that products are displayed attractively and are available in retail stores to maximize sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory, monitoring sales trends, and implementing promotional strategies to achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Display and Arrangement:
- Organize and maintain attractive product displays in line with company standards and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Ensure shelves are well‑stocked, clean, and properly labeled.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with suppliers or the warehouse for replenishments.
Sales Monitoring and Analysis:
- Track sales performance of products and identify trends or issues.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve product performance.
Promotion Implementation:
- Execute in‑store promotions, discounts, and marketing campaigns.
- Install promotional materials, such as posters, banners, and price tags.
Customer Engagement:
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide product information when necessary.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or elevate them to the appropriate department.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with store managers, suppliers, and the sales team to ensure seamless product availability and placement.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new products and industry trends.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree in business, marketing, or a related field is an advantage).
Experience
Prior experience as a merchandiser or in retail sales is preferred.
