About the job: Retail Sales & Project Assistant Manager
A Sales and Project Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of retail operations. This position involves analyzing data, developing strategies, and collaborating with various teams to optimize sales and inventory management, as well as managing some projects that are impactful to the operations and to the Company.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze sales, inventory for promotion, and operational data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales forecasts, inventory turnover, markdown effectiveness, sales failure, and set sales targets and related reports to sales.
- Collaboration and Implementation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, Marketing, Warehouse, Malaysia counterparts, and other departments involved in projects to implement strategies that drive sales growth and improve operational efficiency, such as promotional campaigns with sales objectives and display-related initiatives.
- Support the implementation of new systems, processes, or strategies that will help the operations team in the most impactful way.
- Project Management
- Assist in the preparation, idea generation, monitoring, and analysis of project results and accomplishments, such as marketing promotions, product surveys, new gondola accessories, and other projects to improve store performance, including local or global implementation.
- Monitor timelines, deliverables, and cascade budgets for ongoing projects.
- Financial Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of capital appraisal reports and post-investment analyses to evaluate the impact of capital investments on store performance.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is typically required
- Experience: Generally, 2-5 years of experience in a retail or analytical role is preferred. Experience with retail systems such as POS, ERP, and business intelligence tools is advantageous
- Excel Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially MS Excel
