Job Summary
The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for end-to-end inventory planning, product ordering, and allocation across all retail locations to ensure optimal stock availability, strong sell-through, and healthy inventory performance.
The role ensures that the right products are available in the right stores at the right time by managing global ordering, regional allocation, and assortment optimization in close coordination with global HQ and internal retail teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Planning, Allocation & Stock Optimization
- Monitor and manage store-level and total inventory to ensure optimal stock availability across all locations.
- Prevent stock outs and overstock situations through continuous analysis of sales, stock movement, and sell-through trends.
- Manage replenishment cycles and execute stock rebalancing across stores to optimize performance and reduce aging inventory.
- Support retail teams with store-level stock allocation decisions based on demand, store profile, and sales performance.
- Lead inventory health management by tracking sell-through, stock turn, SKU productivity, and aging stock, and proactively flagging risks and opportunities.
- Support new store openings by planning and executing initial stock allocation, including SKU mix, depth, and size curve based on store profile.
2. Global Ordering, Regional Allocation & HQ Coordination
- Place and manage product orders with global HQ in line with seasonal plans, budgets, and sales forecasts, using theofficial HQ global website hub/system as the primary ordering platform.
- Oversee regional allocation responsibilities, ensuring proper stock distribution and ordering alignment for assigned regions, including the Visayas–Mindanao area.
- Coordinate assortment planning and SKU depth decisions based on local market performance and store needs across assigned regions.
- Support seasonal buy planning by providing HQ with sales insights, demand trends, and store feedback.
- Track product launches, shipments, and delivery timelines to ensure timely and accurate stock flow into stores.
- Act as the main liaison with global HQ for inventory requirements, stock replenishment requests, product updates, assortment changes, and merchandising direction.
3. Sales Performance, Product Optimization & Inventory Actions
- Analyze sales performance to identify best sellers, slow movers, and emerging product trends.
- Optimize store-level product mix and recommend adjustments to improve sell-through and store performance.
- Support markdown and clearance strategies in coordination with retail operations and finance.
- Identify aging or underperforming inventory and recommend corrective actions including transfers, markdowns, or reallocation.
- Recommend merchandising and allocation adjustments to improve underperforming stores or categories.
4. Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly reports on inventory performance, sell-through, stock health, and product movement.
- Maintain and improve forecasting models to support ordering and allocation decisions.
- Provide insights on demand trends, product risks, and inventory opportunities.
- Present monthly merchandising performance updates to management and cross-functional teams.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure accurate and timely inventory updates across e-commerce platforms and third-party sales channels, maintaining overall stock levels.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Retail Operations, Store Development, Marketing, and Finance teams)and platform partners to manage stock synchronization, product availability, and inventory adjustments across all digital and external sales channels.
- Support store openings, product launches, and campaign execution through inventory readiness and allocation support.
- Ensure merchandising decisions are aligned with in-store execution and commercial priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in merchandising, inventory planning, buying, or retail supply chain roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, product lifecycle, and retail stock flow.
- Experience working with global HQ or regional merchandising teams preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
- High proficiency in Excel or merchandising systems (ERP/inventory tools).
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple product categories and cycles.
- Strong communication and coordination skills in cross-functional and HQ environments.
