Job summary

Our Clients in Makati City, Philippines, seeks a Retail Accounting Manager to supervise accounting operations and financial reporting for a fast-paced retail business. This on-site role reports to the finance lead and requires leadership of a small accounting team.

The ideal candidate will oversee sales, inventory, payables, receivables, and store operations, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate audits, and strengthen internal controls. Morning shift preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance with strong knowledge of financial reporting.
• Preferred CPA and extensive accounting experience.
• Experience managing retail accounting processes and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger activities.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Review financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounting transactions related to sales, inventory, purchases, and store operations.
• Monitor and reconcile sales and other retail-related transactions.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and accounting requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Supervise, coach, and develop the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger activities.

• Review financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounting transactions related to sales, inventory, purchases, and store operations.
• Monitor and reconcile sales and other retail-related transactions.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and accounting requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Supervise, coach, and develop the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably from the Retail industry.
• With managerial or supervisory experience.
• Experience handling retail accounting, inventory, sales reconciliation, or multi-store operations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and accounting standards.
• Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
