Job summary

PELOZDEN RSS INC. is seeking a construction estimator to review architectural drawings and produce detailed cost estimates for residential projects.

The role requires strong take-off skills, experience with Buildxact, and the ability to coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing. Applicants should have good numerical and analytical abilities, be highly accurate, and proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction estimating, ideally within residential construction, renovations, fit-outs or trade services.
• Strong experience completing quantity take-offs and detailed project estimates.
• Experience using Buildxact is highly preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction materials, labour requirements and building methodologies.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications and project documentation.
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs using Buildxact.
• Prepare detailed estimates covering materials, labour, subcontractors and other project costs.
• Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor pricing where required.
• Prepare bills of quantities, scopes of work and cost breakdowns.
• Assist with tender preparation, quotations and pricing submissions.
• Identify potential cost risks, scope gaps or inconsistencies within project documentation.
• Prepare and price variations when required.
• Maintain accurate costing information and project records within Buildxact.
• Liaise with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to obtain project-specific information.
