One Spica Tauri Corporation in the Philippines seeks a Chemist/Technician to develop small-scale prototypes, test raw materials, and translate lab formulas into pilot batching instructions for initial production. You will monitor product quality through routine checks (pH, viscosity, clarity), conduct stress tests, maintain lab instruments, and ensure compliance with FDA/ASEAN standards.
A Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field with 1 year in product development is preferred; Barangay Caybiga,
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare small-scale product prototypes, ensuring all ingredients are mixed correctly to achieve desired performance.
Test new raw materials from suppliers to identify how they interact with current formulas and suggest improvements.
Convert lab formulas into \"Pilot Batching Instructions\" for the factory; physically oversee the first production run to troubleshoot any issues with mixing, heating, or thickness.
Perform routine checks on samples (acidity/pH, thickness/viscosity, clarity) to ensure every batch meets company and client quality standards.
Conduct \"stress tests\" to see how products hold up over time; identify why a sample might be failing (color change, separation) and provide scientific hypotheses.
Manage the daily upkeep and calibration of laboratory instruments to ensure all test results are accurate.
Coordinate with chemical suppliers to request samples, updated Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and pricing info for new project requirements.
Identify and request the specific raw materials and specialty chemicals needed for upcoming projects.
Manage stocks of chemicals and maintain an organized library of \"retained samples\" for future quality reference and audits.
Organize detailed lab observations into clear reports to help speed up project approvals for the R&D Manager.
Assist in checking ingredient lists against government safety standards (FDA/ASEAN) to ensure products are legal and safe.
Maintain an organized digital and physical library of safety sheets (SDS) and ingredient specifications (COA/TDS)
Qualifications:
Registered Chemist or Licensed Chemical Technician is highly preferrable
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmacy
At least 1 year of experience in Product Development and Analytical Testing preferred
Amenable to work in Barangay Caybiga, North Caloocan
Can start ASAP
