Job summary

Butterfly, a Melbourne-based website development and digital agency, is seeking a seasoned Independent Contractor to lead WordPress projects from scoping through launch. You will work with clients, designers, developers and internal teams to manage scope, timelines, budgets and risks, ensuring documentation and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience as Independent Contractor for international clients (AU/US/UK).
• 3+ years of digital project management or digital producer experience.
• Proven experience delivering WordPress website projects from planning through launch.
• Strong understanding of WordPress and CMS environments, with a non-coding background.
• Strong planning, estimation, refinement and release management skills with budget/scope changes.
• Organizational skills across multiple concurrent deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Experience using project management platforms to manage tasks, workflows and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage WordPress website projects end-to-end from scoping through launch.
• Manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks and competing priorities.
• Control scope changes, variations and release expectations.
• Create project plans, delivery briefs, estimates and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate clients, designers, developers and internal teams throughout delivery.
• Lead stand-ups, planning sessions, refinements and project retrospectives.
• Maintain clear client communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Oversee quality assurance, UAT readiness and launch preparation.
• Troubleshoot project challenges and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Identify workflow improvements that strengthen delivery quality and efficiency.
